Why hair is given to Lord Balaji

Once Sri Venkateswara was hit by a shepherd and lost some portion of hair. By seeing this a Gandharva princess Neela Devi cut some portion of her hair and planted it on the scalp of Venkateswara Swamy. Lord Balaji was pleased with her devotion and promised her that all his devotees whoever will come to the abode of Lord Venkateswara Swamy should give their hair to him on their own desire and that total hair offered to Lord Balaji should belong to her for her devotion.

Here the mindblowing fact is that there is a real hair on the idol of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy and this hair always remains as silky smooth. Due to this act of offering hair, TTD gets an income of 200 crores per year.

Very unique arch at Tirumala hills

Arch at Tirumala hills is very unique in the world. This arch is also known as Silathoranam. Sila means rock and thoranam means garland. This arch resembles the hood of the snake and it will resemble all the symbols that we worship in Hindu religion.
Here the interesting fact is the height of the main deity in Tirupati Balaji temple is same as the height of the arch.

The secret village

There is one secret village which is located approximately 23 km from Tirumala temple. It is said that the village has the garden of flowers from where flowers are fetched and used for worshipping Sri Venkateswara Swamy. All the flowers used in Garba Gudi are brought from this village only. Not only flowers but also milk, ghee, and butter are also fetched from this village for sanctum of Lord Venkateswara Swamy.

Here the highlighted fact is that people living in that village can only enter that village and outsiders should not be allowed to enter the village. So this secret village has never seen or visited by any outsider.

The appearance of Lord Balaji

Once upon a time in 1800, there was one king who killed 12 people and hanged them on the walls of the temple as punishment for their committed crimes. At that time temple got closed for 12 years and it is believed that Lord Venkateshwara Swamy made an appearance.

Continuous glowing of lights

There are lights burning from thousands of years in front of idol of Lord Venkateswara. There is no proof from which time these lights are glowing and who lit these lights. They are burning for a long time and will continue to burn. This resembles that light of an ardent devotee's heart will never get extinguished.

Garuda hills in Tirumala

The hills in Tirumala is the adobe of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy features a natural rock formation that is in the form of Garuda that's why they are called as Garuda hills. Actually, Garuda(Eagle) is the vehicle of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

Story of Swami's chin

At the entrance of the main gate of the temple, we could see one stick. This was the stick used by Ananthalvaar to beat Lord Venkateswara Swamy when he was a child. One day Swami got hit on his chin but this stick and blood oozed out. From that time the act of applying Chandan on Swami's chin came into existence.

Hill resembles the face of Swami

Another interesting fact is about seven hills of swami. Among these hills, one hill has a face of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. That Hill appears as that Lord Venkateshwara is sleeping and you can see the face of Swamy.
